The Legal Innovators for Tomorrow (LIFT) is a two-year pilot program operated by the Louisiana State Bar Association. LIFT provides new attorneys with the resources necessary to develop an innovative, public interest-oriented solo or small law firm. The program is designed to support these lawyers in developing cutting-edge practices, sustaining profitable careers and serving the public interest through excellent legal services. The LIFT Fellows are supported in reaching these goals through resources such as mentoring, CLEs, practice management training, networking and referrals. Overall, the purpose of the LIFT Fellowship Program is to:
- Innovate. Assist the attorneys develop new and innovative ways to provide affordable legal services to low and moderate income individuals.
- Collaborate. Foster collaboration among public interest-oriented attorneys by providing office space, training, and resources to ensure their solo practices can sustainably serve modest means clients.
- Serve. Expand access to affordable legal services for low and moderate income individuals in the Greater New Orleans area and eventually statewide.
